Proversity is visiting New York this week as part of a EdTech Trade Mission to the US. The business which has recently closed a $1.6 million-dollar seed investment round will be meeting with policy-makers, businesses and the New York Department of Education in order to assess the market and expand their business to the fastest-growing education technology region in America.
There is huge opportunity for growth of our business as New York is where the US is seeing the most education-focused digital innovation, says Zairah Khurshid Marketing and Business Development Manager of Proversity, who is currently in New York as part of the delegation to with UKTI and EdTech UK. As a business, Proversity aims to take full advantage of this market visit in order to scale internationally to perpetuate our mission to fill the skills gap with companies across industries, she adds.
Headquartered in London, Proversity works with companies across industries, they want to bridge the gap in skills between education and the workplace. The company has successfully developed Digital Universities, built by employers such as the Bank of England, the Royal Artillery and Network Rail in the UK, and has been developing a presence in the US in Boston, having developed its first office outside of the UK collaborating with Cambridge, MA-based edX, a leading online course provider founded by Harvard and MIT, with the latest update set to launch in the next month.
Every industry faces a gap in workplace skills and we're seeing this as a common problem across the world. "We hope to keep expanding to regions across the world in order to provide global opportunities to local communities," says Khurshid.
Proversity is currently working on their expansion to Cape Town, by setting up a technology and production hub in Cape Town, South Africa, as well as delivering programs as part of a Chilean government initiative, developing a digital academy with accelerator Startup Chile for skills in entrepreneurship, in order to educate the workforce in Latin America, and help boost local economies. Proversity has completed market visit to Tel Aviv with mayor Boris Johnson prior to closing their investment round in November. They will begin to scale internationally in Africa, North America, Middle East and Asia. For further press enquiries, please contact Zairah Khurshid directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
